A Sip of Kakheti, Sighnaghi Style

Sighnaghi sits in the heart of Georgia’s wine country, where family cellars and historic winemaking traditions still shape the landscape. This private wine tour takes you beyond the polished facades to meet small-scale producers making natural qvevri wine by hand. Expect earthy reds, crisp amber whites, and warm hospitality in a village setting.

Your driver will guide you to two or three cellar doors in and around Sighnaghi, with an option to stop for a home-cooked lunch. It’s not a rushed commercial tasting—it’s a relaxed introduction to Kakheti’s soul, one pour at a time.

What’s included

Private vehicle with local driver

Visits to 2–3 artisan wine cellars

Tastings of qvevri reds & whites

Optional lunch with local dishes

Meet the Winemakers

Each cellar we visit is small, family-run, and happy to share their wine without pressure. Your driver can explain the process if the host doesn’t speak English. You’ll hear how the wine is made in clay vessels underground, and taste directly from the source—usually accompanied by fresh bread or churchkhela.

Comfortable Ride & Insight

All transport is private and unhurried. Your driver knows the timing and terrain, and makes sure you're never rushed—or over-served. Cars include optional car seats for families, and 4x4 options for vineyards up rougher tracks.

Timing & Price

Plan for 3 to 4 hours, including tastings and transfer time. The tour starts from $90 per vehicle, not including tasting fees or lunch. Most cellar tastings are $5–10 per person, often waived with a bottle purchase.

Authentic Wine, Real People

Skip the commercial wine halls and go straight to the clay cellars. With a local driver, you’ll find real families, real stories, and wine that reflects the soil and soul of Sighnaghi. Choose your pace, pour your glass, and enjoy the view.
