Explore Georgia’s Northern Gateway

Carved by the Tergi River and flanked by sheer granite walls, the Dariali Gorge is one of the most striking landscapes in northern Georgia. This private 4x4 tour takes you deep into the valley with optional walks to the Gveleti waterfalls, two hidden cascades tucked between towering cliffs.

The route follows the Georgian Military Highway north toward the Russian border, passing watchtowers, riverside meadows, and panoramic viewpoints. It’s a quiet contrast to the tourist-filled church above Kazbegi, perfect for travelers seeking scenery, space, and soft adventure.

Scenic Route Overview

The drive from Kazbegi to the waterfall trailhead takes about 20–30 minutes. We’ll follow the river upstream into the narrowing gorge, with views of cliffs, towers, and the distant border zone. Once at Gveleti, you can choose to walk to one or both waterfalls, each a short but rocky path. The upper fall is more dramatic, while the lower is gentler and great for cooling off.

Vehicle & Comfort

This route includes some uneven gravel roads, so we use sturdy 4x4s for your comfort and safety. Rides are private, and your driver adjusts speed, stops, and pacing based on your group. You can spend more time on the trail, pause for photos, or simply enjoy the cool valley air from the car.

Tour Timing & Price

The full outing usually takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on how much time you spend hiking or relaxing at viewpoints. Price starts at $75 per vehicle. If you’d like to combine this with other stops (like the old Russian military post or a café visit), just let us know when booking.

A Quiet Adventure in Northern Svaneti

The Dariali Gorge and Gveleti Waterfalls offer a peaceful escape just minutes from Kazbegi. With a private driver and flexible pacing, you can explore at your own speed, perfect for couples, nature lovers, or anyone looking to stretch their legs without a big trek. Great morning or afternoon outing.
