Whether you want to walk the full forest route or drive right to the entrance, we’ll tailor the plan to your mood. It’s the perfect way to step into nature and Georgian spiritual history without needing to plan a thing.
The Green Monastery (Chitakhevi) dates back to the 9th century and sits deep in a wooded valley just 10 km from Borjomi. Most visitors enjoy a short walk through pine forest paths before reaching the quiet stone chapel surrounded by birdsong and moss-covered stones. You’ll have time to explore, light a candle, or simply sit in silence. The route is shaded and peaceful, ideal in summer and autumn.
You’ll travel in a clean, private vehicle with a friendly local driver who knows the area well. If you prefer, we can drop you closer to the monastery entrance or walk the last part with you. The round trip takes around 2.5–3 hours in total, depending on stops and walking time. No groups, no schedule, just a peaceful day in nature.
This is a simple and serene half-day trip, great for couples, solo travelers, or anyone who wants a bit of quiet time outside the city. Prices start at $80 per vehicle (not per person). Available year-round, but best from May to November when the forest is green and trails are clear.
